Valcivir-500 (Valacyclovir 500mg) - 3 Tablets

Valcivir-500 is used in the treatment of cold sores (herpes labialis), shingles (herpes zoster) and genital herpes.

Valcivir-500 helps controlling the symptoms by suppressing the herpes virus in the body. It works best if you take this medication as soon as an outbreak is starting.

Dosage: Take the medication as directed by your doctor or physician.

Side Effects:

Common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anal leakage and/or headache.

Tell your doctors immediately if you are experiencing following serious side effects: Infrequent side effects include hallucinations, agitation, speech problem, vision changes, tremor, and confusion. Rare side effects include seizures, loss of consciousness, and signs of other infections.

Precautions:

Valacyclovir is not for patients such as those infected with HIV, had a bone marrow or an organ transplant as it may cause thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (blood disorder) and hemolytic uremic syndromes (severe kidney problem).

Consult your doctor before using Valacyclovir if you have a medical history of kidney diseases, blood disorders, immune system problem (e.g. HIV, bone marrow transplant, organ transplant).

Caution is advised on using Valacyclovir for the elderly since they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug.

Consult your doctor or physician if you are pregnant, planning to pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Valacyclovir.
